Carol Payne and I held Simply Impressive Beginner and Advanced Stamp Classes last weekend at my church. In case you didn't have a chance to stop by, I wanted to show you some of the projects that we completed:
Of course, there was Uncle Sam, and he is my favorite on the cutsie side. He was one of the projects we completed in the Beginner classes.
Email me if you need step-by-step directions for my main man here. He is made of pieces of the Top Note Die punched and put togetner. Look at his eyebrows, the "stitching" that the Top Note does really is what he needed to complete the look of his eyebrows. Don't you think he is the cutest?
This baby card was the second project in the Beginner Classes. It is made with the Top Note, of course, and the Stars Die also for the Big Shot. The largest star is a the die cut, then the pink star is punched with SU's Large Star Punch, and then the Small Star Punch was used on the designer paper. This was a quick but very elegant card. Of course, you can adapt other designer papers to use and with a different greeting, this card could be used for numerous projects.
Carol showed the Advanced Stampers Class how to complete an adorable tri-fold card that has envelopes inside when opened. This is actually a mini-scrapbook!! She used Tempting Turquoise cardstock as the base of the card and Pink Flamingo designer series paper for the remaining patterned paper you see. We first made the belly band that went around the card when it was closed. What a cute tag we tied on the belly band with the Real Red grosgrain ribbon. Who would have thought this wild variety of colors would look great together--well, Stampin' Up! of course!
See the belly band?
This is how the card looks when it is opened up, with the belly band laying on the side. There are three open-ended envelopes attached on the right with tabs at the top and each has a different pattern of designer paper. Cute, Cute!!
Each envelope is attached only at the bottom edge and you can see how they will flip forward allowing you to insert your goodies and special items into each envelope.
Think how cute these would be for Christmas, as you could keep lists, receipts, calendars, etc. and be so organized!!
The Inspired by Nature Stamp Set was used on this Advanced Stamp Class project, together with a White Craft Ink stamp pad and our Stampin' Chalks. We used sponge daubers to daub the gorgeous chalks needed to complete this look. We scalloped the bottom edge first with the Scalloped Edge Punch, and then cut the sections apart and sponged around the edges of this puzzle card, again using White Craft Ink. A small library clip adds the extra dimension needed to complete this card.
Our next event will be held at the Granada Theater in downtown Mt. Vernon, Illinois, on July 25, 2009. Our RED HOT SUMMER STAMPING EVENT will be similar to the Spring Into Stamping Event we held this past March. Remember how exciting that was? There will be demonstrations, make and takes, door prizes, and lots and lots of displays for you to see. Make sure you bring your camera and a friend to this unique stamping event. RSVP you and your friends soon!
