Christmas Card Buffet to be held November 21

  WHAT:  My 2nd Annual Christmas Card Buffet

WHEN:  Friday, November 21, from 6:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight

WHERE:  Wesley United Methodist Church, 1601 Salem Road, Mt. Vernon, Illinois

This is an annual event that will get your holiday stampin' juices flowing!!  For those of you that attended last year, I know you remember what a fun time we had.  This will be held at my church this year, to allow for much more room and attendees.

There will be 10 Christmas cards and 3-D projects to make that evening.  The fee is $25 and includes all supplies for these projects.  This is similar to an open house, meaning that you can drop in as your schedule permits and you can stay as late as you like. 

I will have a "Perfect Bow Everytime" session that you can also participate in during the evening, to allow you to get ready for the Christmas season and all of the bows we are all expected to tie. 

Remember last year, we also had another kind of buffet to go along with the stampin' buffet--we had a food buffet.  You are welcome to bring snacks, desserts and drinks of your choice, if you desire.  This is not a requirement, only if you would like to participate in that.  Our stampin' fingers will need some replenishment, girls can't be expected to stamp without treats!

HALLOWEEN AT HOME

You won't believe what is attacking in my kitchen--look at these fiercely adorable spiders!  They are everywhere!  We might have to bite their heads off.  I will be showing these at all of my events until Halloween, I think they are that cute!  They are extremely easy to make and put together, just punch the pieces and adhere together.  Presto--cuteness!  The kids love them, teachers love them and everyone who has seen them is crazy about them.  Come on over to my web and get attached to these creatures!  See below for my directions.
 

These cuties are made quick and easy by using Stampin' Up's various punches and adhering together to your peppermint patt--very easy.  You will need to punch and adhere together as follows:

Using the Scallop punch, punch two black body pieces and set aside.

Use our 1/2" circle punch to punch two white eyes.  Use the 1/4" circle punch to punch two black eye centers and attach to the white eyes.  Use a white gel pen to put small white dots on the centers of the eyes (do this after the spider is put together, as the white gel needs time to dry and will smear, which will distract from the cuteness of your little arachnid.)

Use the 1/4" circle punch to punch a red nose.  Adhere the eyes and nose to the lower edge of the front body scallop. 

Using Stampin' Up's Corner Punch, punch four large corner "legs" of black and four small corner "legs" of another color cardstock of your choice.  Layer and adhere these pieces together with Snail adhesive.  Then you will place one completed leg section just over the edge of a matching leg section and adhere together with Snail adhesive.  Add a small amount of Snail adhesive to the tips of the legs which will attach on the back of the spider's face.  Repeat on other side.

Attach this piece to the front of your peppermint patty and the remaining black scallop will be attached to the back of the peppermint patty.  These guys can even stand up on their own!

Now, you will have to agree that these are extremely easy and fast, not to mention adorable!!  Just think how fast you can whip up these sweet treats.

If you think you will need some of these yummy treats for you, your gobblin's or their teachers, but don't want to make them, I am taking orders for these spiders.  I will make and deliver them to you for $9/dozen.  Let me know if you need help with some special treats this Halloween season.

DECOR ELEMENTS

What in the world are Decor Elements?  These are vinyl wall "clings/decorations" that are easy on, look gorgeous, and when you are ready, they are easy off.

Stampin' Up has introduced us to their new line of Decor Elements in two phases.  The latest phase has been a better look into where Stampin' Up is going with this line.  Here I am at the convention in Salt Lake City after just discovering the new Decor Element display:

 

This is the Ginormous Flower collection and it comes in a mixture of Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Pink Passion, and So Saffron colors.  They look yummy in person.  (I want my daughters to put this collection in their room, but they have other plans for those same walls! Oh, well)

Stampin' Up! has introduced the line of Decor Elements to coordinate with our stamp sets and our 48 fabulous colors.  Imagine the possibilities!  SU demonstrators are able to purchase the vinyl in various colors to use along with the new Big Shot by Sizzix to die cut our own patterns for the walls.  This allows you to spell your child's name for the wall and personalize in so many unique ways.

The vinyl is very durable, washable, and vibrant.  SU has a new large line of vinyl decorations to choose from.  There are holiday-themed cut outs (santa in his sleigh, Wise Men, Christmas balls, a Christmas Countdown set, etc.
